Jesse is survived by his wife, Kaytie, son, Jesse, daughter, Danielle, mother, Joyce and sisters, Nikki Clowers and Kristi Millican.

A native of Lebanon, Virginia, Staff Sergeant Jesse G. Clowers, Jr. died on 12 August 2007 in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, when he sustained fatal wounds from an Improvised Explosive Device. Clowers enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in 2004 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in 2006. SSG Clowers was assigned as a Communications Sergeant in 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM at the time of his death.
